Pipe-Making Training
Thanks to everyone who has contacted us to date to register their expression of interest in Na Píobairí Uilleann’s pipe-making training programme. We are encouraged by the level of response to date and will post regular progress updates on our website at http://www.pipers.ie/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=164
The next major steps in this project are as follows:
- Equipment procurement
- Facility lease and fit out
- Publish course schedule
- Enrolment
We will commence courses in 2010 ,the exact format, scale and number of places offered, will of course be dependent on availability of funding.
Notes and Narratives- Lecture/Performance Series
The recent lectures/performances by Jesse Smith, Ciarán Ó Gealbhain and Seosamh Ó Neacthtain have proved to be very informative and entertaining and have been very well received. The series will continue over the coming months as scheduled below :

Monthly Session with the Pipers recital September 7th 2010
This excellent series continues on the first Tuesday of each month in the Cobblestone Bar in Smithfield, Dublin 7. The recital on Tuesday September 7th will feature piper Tiarnán O Duinchinn, fiddle player Paul Ó’Shaughnessy, and the accordion and harmonica duet of Josephine Marsh and Mick Kinsella.

This years event will take place in Libert Hall Dublin on Saturday October 9th at 8 pm

Brendán Breathnach Event
The 2010 commemorative event will take place on Saturday 4th of December and will feature piping and reedmaking classes along with lectures and recitals. Details of this event will be posted on the NPU website over the coming weeks.
NPU Tionól 2011
The event has been confirmed to be held on the weekend of May 27th to 29th in the Step House Hotel in Borris, County Carlow.
