TG4’s show searching for Ireland’s most entertaining family returns for a second series.
From The Clancy Brothers to Crystal Swing, the Irish family has entertained us throughout the decades. Talented Irish families have excelled in their particular genres, whether it’s the pop music of The Corrs or the sean-nós dancing of the Cunninghams.
Now it’s time to find a brand new family that will entertain the nation.
Over 13 episodes, TG4’s FEIS & BLOOD, will set out to find a new super-star family.
All entries must be made up solely from family members and must consist of at least 2 people.
So if your family is the new Clannad, or if you like to sing and dance with your brother, sister, parents or grandparents, we want to hear from you. Maybe you enjoy singing Country & Western with your niece? Or do you spend Sunday evenings doing your own version of Riverdance with your cousins? Perhaps your clan spend the evenings juggling, line-dancing, or break-dancing. Maybe your kids are the next big thing in classical music? Whatever the talent, get in touch with us and apply for an audition.
Last year’s Feis & Blood:
Over 400 families from all over Ireland auditioned for Feis & Blood 2011. Over the course of 13 episodes, the 80 families who made it to the studio rounds were put through their paces by the judges until one family were named Feis & Blood champions.
Little Soul, a mother and daughter singing sensations from Loughrea Co Galway overcame some stiff competition t be crowned Feis & Blood Champions 2011. Speaking about their win Martina Flaherty said, ‘We loved taking part in Feis & Blood, it was a great way for us to perform together, and really brought us closer together. We had a blast!’
Since winning Feis & Blood both Martina and her daughter Rhianna have gone on to enjoy further success in the music industry. Martina released a charity single for Goal and continues to tour the country with her band, Rhianna recorded and released her debut CD entitled Rhianna.
How to apply:
Simply log onto the TG4 website, www.tg4.ie and click on FEIS & BLOOD and fill out the application form http://www.tg4.ie/en/programmes/feis-blood/entry-form.html. Alternatively, you can call 01-284 3877 and ask for Sharon.
Once you have applied, you will be contacted to attend your local audition. The auditions will take place nationwide on the 10th & 11th of March 2012.
Families who cannot make the auditions can send a video of themselves to sharon@adareproductions.ie and will be judged on the strength of their talent.
From the auditions, the most entertaining families will be invited to take part in the show. If you are called to take part in the series, the next stage will be to record your first round show in Dublin.
The first round shows will be recorded on20th 21st & 22nd of March 2012.
If you are selected for the show, you will only be required to come to Dublin for just ONE of those dates.
How the series works:
Several different families will perform in each of the X first round shows. In each of these shows, one family will be chosen to return for the quarter final. So after the first round shows, we are left with 10 quarter finalists.
In shows 11, 12 and 13 quarter finalists will be whittled down to one overall series winner.
Watching the families in each show is the judging panel, comprising of 3 experts in the field of entertainment. This year's series is presented by Pádraig Ó Sé, and judging are newcomer Caitríona Ní Ceannabháin, Sibéal Davitt and Aonghus McAnally. The judging panel are responsible for selecting the winning family in each of the 10 first round shows. They will also make the crucial decisions in shows 11, 12 and 13, and will select the overall series winner.

Tar éis na trialacha, tabharfar cuireadh do na teaghlaigh is siamsúla a bheith páirteach sa chlár. Má thugtar cuireadh duit a bheith páirteach sa tsraith, is í an chéad chéim eile ná clár an chéad bhabhta a thaifeadadh i mBaile Átha Cliath.
Beidh na cláir don chéad bhabhta á dtaifeadadh ar an 20ú, 21ú & 22ú Márta 2012. Má roghnaítear don chlár tú, beidh ort teacht go Baile Átha Cliath ar cheann AMHÁIN de na dátaí sin.

Beidh roinnt teaghlach éagsúil páirteach i ngach ceann de na gcláracha chéad bhabhta. I ngach ceann de na cláir sin, roghnófar teaghlach amháin le teacht ar ais don bhabhta ceathrú ceannais. Agus mar sin, tar éis na cláir chéad bhabhta, beidh 10 iomaitheoir fágtha sa bhabhta ceathrú ceannais. I gcláir 11, 12 agus 13 beifear ag fáil réidh leis na hiomaitheoirí ceathrú ceannais teaghlach i ndiaidh teaghlaigh go dtí nach mbeidh fágtha ach buaiteoir na sraithe.
Beidh painéal na moltóirí, a bheidh comhdhéanta de 3 shaineolaí i réimse na siamsaíochta, ag coinneáil súil ghéar ar na teaghlaigh. I mbliana 'said Sibéal Davitt, Aonghus McAnally agus moltóir nua Caitríona ní Cheannabháin, a bheidh mar mholtóirí agus beidh pádraig Ó Sé á chur i láthair. Tá painéal na moltóirí freagrach as teaghlach amháin a roghnú as an deich gclár chéad bhabhta. Déanfaidh siad na cinntí tábhachtacha chomh maith i gcláir 11, 12 agus 13, agus roghnóidh siad buaiteoir na sraithe.
