I own the NPU's template but I never use it because I don't know how I could use it. It seems to be a lot wider than a normal reed.
Could somebody give me a clue?
Congratulations for the new site design.

Here is a site that'll give you a few good reed specs in order to make your own template.

Hi,
Ideally seek advice from an experienced player local to you.
Before you do anything yourself, download Dave Heggerty's Reed Making Book. This is available on this site in PDF format. It will stop you doing bad things to your reed, and help greatly with the good. The south Western Uilleann Pipers Club has a good booklet you can down load for free too. Google will find them.
Generally with a new reed, it takes a few hours of playing over a number of days to bed it in, i.e with rest periods in between to settle it in. Try this first before doing anything drastic yourself. _________________ |
